《사라지는 몸, 만져지는 말》은 조현병 당사자와의 인터뷰를 기반으로 그들의 병리적 경험을 들여다보는 동명의 다큐멘터리를 선보인다. 조현병의 증상과 예후, 특성은 단일 서사로 환원될 수 없다. 개인이 겪는 경험은 오로지 그 한 사람만이 온전하게 느낄 수 있는 고유의 영역이다. 작가는 정신질환의 증상을 재현하려 들거나, 사회 구조의 불합리성을 지적하는 계몽적 어조를 취하지 않는다. 대신, 조현병 당사자의 서로 다른 신체와 경험 그 자체에 몰입한다. 전시는 병렬적인 다채널 미디어를 활용하여 이 몸과 말을 세계에 흩뿌린다. 그것은 충돌하고 대조되며 때로 공명하는 가운데, 비가시화된 몸을 대신하여 감각 가능한 실체로 관객에게 다가간다.

양은경(b. 1989)은 극영화와 다큐멘터리를 만든다. 가시화되지 않는 장애와 낙인찍힌 이름으로 인하여 드러낼 수 없는 몸에 대한 관심을 갖고 작업을 이어오고 있다. 그 과정에서 필연적으로 담을 수밖에 없는(제외될 수밖에 없는) 초상과 목소리를 편집하는 방식에 대해 치열하게 고민하고 있다. 개인전 《도채비 가로지르기》(아트스페이스 카고, 2022), 《도채비 길어올리기》(옹노, 2021)를 만들었고, DMZ국제다큐멘터리영화제 K-Doc Short Pitch 2022에 〈이름의 자리〉로 우수상을 수상했다.

Invisible Body, Tangible Word presents a documentary of the same name based on interviews with people with schizophrenia, exploring their pathological experiences. The symptoms, prognosis, and characteristics of schizophrenia cannot be reduced to a single narrative. The experiences of individuals belong to a realm that can only be fully felt by the person themselves. The artist does not try to recreate the symptoms of mental illness, nor does she take on an enlightening tone to critique the flaws in social structures. Instead, she focuses on the unique bodies and experiences of individuals with schizophrenia. The exhibition scatters these bodies and words into the world through parallel multi-channel media. As it clashes, contrasts, and at times resonates, it approaches the audience as tangible entities in place of the bodies that have been rendered invisible.

YANG Eunkyung(b.1989) creates narrative films, and documentaries focused on schizophrenia and brings other words and signals that cannot be contained within those mediums into the exhibition space. Her work begins with contemplating the process of editing portraits and voices captured for the film, leading to a deeper interest in the bodies that cannot be revealed due to disabilities and societal stigma.
